    Is SCILI a nationally recognized training organisation?

    Yes we are a nationally recognized Registered Training Organisation. Only Registered Training Organizations (RTOs), can issue certificates recognized under the Australian Qualification Training Framework (AQTF). Our provider number is 32506.

    How do I enrol?

    Please see the Enrolment Procedure and follow the instructions on our enrolment page. The process starts by downloading the enrolment application form. Once you have completed the enrolment form, you will need to send it to us.

    Do we get enough information about a course or orientation?

    Once you enroll in the course, Southern Cross International Learning Institute, SCILI Student Service or your trainer/assessor will contact you and send the induction and orientation documents. These documents will tell you everything you need to know about your experience with us.

    What is the cost of the course?

    The cost for each course differs depending on which course you choose, along with your level of competency. For instance, a Diploma of Business (BSB50207) will cost $3600, if you only need gap training then the cost will be $1600. however if you are experienced and all you need is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), then the course will only be $250.     Are there any other fees beside tuition?

    No, we do not charge an enrolment fee or administration fee and there are no hidden costs associated. The only fees you will need to cover are the fees for each individual course that you choose to enroll in.

    What kind of student support will I receive?

    At Southern Cross International Learning Institute we aim to give our students as much assistance and guidance as possible. To maximize your understanding, our trainers will spend time with you to discuss and explain the course and give you all the appropriate assistance to enable you to complete the course with confidence.     What training materials and training aids do you use?

    Southern Cross International Learning Institute utilizes manuals and valuable Learning Resources. These recourses have been developed by Southern Cross International Learning Institute and approved by the National Training Authority and the Department Education Training (DET). SCILI trainers offer a wealth of knowledge and use the latest training materials. Trainers are real people with real industry experience so you can practice techniques that you’ll need in the workforce and learn practical skills.

    How does Southern Cross assess students?

    The objective of assessment is for the student to show that they have achieved the unit’s competencies. Students will be advised of the assessment methodology before training commences.

    Details are in our course information handbook. Students may be assessed by one or more of the following methods:

    • Workbook activities
    • Observation /Oral questioning /Case study Multiple choice.
    • Project work and reports
    • Or any other method outlined in the course information

    If I have previous experience and I have been trained, do I have to go through all the subjects in my chosen course?

    If you have undertaken previous education or training, you may be entitled to a credit transfer, or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment with evidence you may provide.

    How will each lesson be conducted?

    The delivery is flexible and dependent upon each student’s needs and organisational constraints. We offer classroom delivery / Help Desk / online tutorial approaches with participants working through each unit and providing adequate evidence for assessment of underpinning knowledge and skills. Evidence for assessment of competency will include: Assessment Workbooks completed and submitted by participants, and an Evidence Portfolio containing relevant documentary evidence for each unit.

    What are the subjects I will cover?

    Each course has a specific structure and requires certain units to be completed for the qualification. The units consist of core units and elective units. For more information please refer our Course page and read more about your chosen course requirements.


TAE COURSE

    What does the TAE40110 course cover?

    TAE40110 is the new code for the Certificate IV Training and Assessment qualification, which replaces the former TAA40104 Certificate IV Training and Assessment qualification. SCILI has been accepting enrolments exclusively for the TAEA since its inception in January 2011. The course is designed to meet the needs of people who are working in, or plan to work in the training sector in industry while at the same time recognising that the delivery of training and education in a VET context requires wider and more diverse skills, knowledge and competence. The philosophical basis of the program is the application of the principles and practices embedded in TAE10 to the delivery of quality services to meet the organisational needs and learner needs in relation to training and assessment.

    What do I have to do to upgrade from TAA40104 to the new TAE40110?

    The units of competency completed in your TAA40104 must map across to TAE40110.

    I already have BSZ40198. Do I have to complete the full course?

    No. You can take the upgrade course if you can provide identified supporting evidence. This will enable you to receive recognition for 7 out of 10 units in the TAE40110 qualification. The following units are to be completed.

    • TAESS401B Plan assessment activities and processes
    • TAESS403B Participate in assessment validation
    • TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client need

    If you are ineligible for an upgrade, you can take our RPL/Gap training.

    What are the prerequisites for taking on this course?

    There are no specific entry requirements for this course however ideally learners:

    • Will have a minimum of two years’ experience in their organisation and industry.
    • Will hold positions of responsibility or aspire to such.
    • Apply principles of workplace learning to their own situation.
    • Have access to workplace evidence to support assessment requirements.
    • Have the required literacy and IT skills.

    Once I have this qualification, what options do I have for further training?

    After achieving TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, candidates may undertake TAA50104 Diploma of Training and Assessment or may choose to undertake TAE70110 Vocational Graduate Certificate in Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice.
